As well as treating back pain my aim is to cure people of back pain and correct what caused it in the first place, using postural correction, muscle balance therapy, and muscle activation. I can not only take the pain away but also make sure it doesn't come  back, get your back strong and flexible so you can carry on a normal life lifting, gardening, sports etc without the fear of injury!

The most common lower back problems come from very common postural distortions- Hyper lordosis (hollow back), Flat back and Sway Back,  each one as a particular muscle imbalance causing the problem !  A typical example is the "hollow back" this is caused by a tight hip flexor(psoas)  that as also deactivated due to to much sitting and tight rectus femoris(long thigh muscle)!  When the psoas shuts down through the process of reciprocal inhibition then so does the glute ! The psoas attaches to the top of the thigh and also all 4 lumbar vetabrae so it as a tendency when tight and deactivated  to pulll the spine into lordosis .The glute deactivating as a major impact because its is used to help keep us upright and hold the pelvis in a posterior position. With the deactivation of the psoas "the main muscle for flexing the hip" happens the body wants to keep moving so the starts using the quad for hip flexion this as the quad doing 2 actions hip flexion and knee extension the result a tightening of the quad. The quad attaches to the anterior side of the pelvis and as it tightens up coupled with the deactivation of glutes the pelvis is pulled anteriorly, add to this the aforementioned tight psoas and we have a hollow back and if the core is weak we are heading for trouble!

The end result is an extremely tight lower back and excessive and uneven pressure on the lumbar discs !

To combat this we have to reverse the problem by reactivating  and strengthening  glutes and core and releasing and reactivating the tight  hip flexors and quads to bring the body back into alignment!
